I have (2) Panasonic AG-DVC 30's ...I use Azden Wireless Mics and a Rode directional. All were purchased through B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/shop/11863/Professional_Camcorders_Prosumer_Camcorders.html

Here is a shot of my 30

You could find this cam for about $1200 -1500 on ebay from a good seller.

Those are some nice cameras. I have been looking around the internet for good used deals and i have found a few prosumer cameras used for under 1000 dollars. Do you think it would be worth it or is used not the way to go?

If you buy used, i would warn you to make sure the camera you are looking at doesn't have a ton of hours on it, otherwise you might just be buying someone else's junk.

I have a sony dcr sr 200 which is HDD and they are on ebay cheap now. It has a 1 lux rating and films pretty darn well for a consumer cam. I will use it for inbetween little things now, and I take it scouting with me all the time. Its light small and puts out a picture in low light which doesnt get too grainy. Check them out, as I can assure you the price is right for what you are getting into. Best of luck.

Anything over 200 hours i would stay away from, unless you know the seller and know they took care of the camera.
