For the "classic upland gun" its english/straight all the way. Why...ummmm 'cause it's classic. Pistol grip's advantage is seen more in/by the high volume shooting. English stocks are easier to carry in the field. Will the gun have dual triggers? If so, than the english has another advantage of being perfect for sliding up to the far trigger or down to the near. Though I do have a dual trigger in pistol and its not any problem.

I'd get a straight stock. Why...ummmm 'cause it's classic (am I repeating myself here??)

What gun/guns are you looking at?

I have been looking at the DeHaan and Traditions Elite SxS's. So far each has their marks on my list of desires and without going full on custom, nothing has perfectly matched. What I want is a light weight, double triggered SxS with a pistol grip stock in a 16ga. Although, I am beginning to shine up to the straight stock. DeHaan has the 16 with double triggers but with straight stock only. Traditions has the pistol with double triggers but no 16. I have a Stoeger Uplander Supreme now, and while I am aware that they have a 16, double triggerd pistol grip available in their Uplander, I am wanting something a little more trim and better fitted in the wood to metal department. The more I look at them though, the more I see myself going with the DeHaan. I guess years of never having a straight stock is what is causing my apprehension of buying one. Oh well. I have held a few SxS's with straight stocks and must admitt it is different, I don't think it would take long to grow accustomed to. Another draw back--no one has either of those guns in stock to handle. Traditions is special order at all of my shops and the DeHaan is buy direct from the factory.
