does anyone use a 12 gauge 3"

I have used 3" for turkey and pheasant but usually use 2 3/4 for small game. That is one of the beauties of a longer chamber, I shoot a 3 1/2" nova and i can shoot any load out of it.

i have the same gun as you and i shoot 3" on occasion it just depends how the birds are flying but if you shoot to much it`ll kill your shoulder i usually use 2 3/4" shells

That's awesome! How does your gun work for you? IS it okay? Would you buy another model from mossberg?

I use a 2 3/4" shell for phesants. It's a pretty hot load at around 1,300 fps of 1 3/8oz of shot. My best buddy uses the same load in a 3" shell. If you want to use a 3" shell for upland it would be fine. A 2 3/4" shell will do and is a more popular choice.

I use 3" for pheasants but mostly because I am already stocked up from hunting ducks that morning. You can find better deals for 2 3/4 shells so if I am stricktly after pheasants then I usually shoot those.
