Here are a few pics from my 2010 season. Huns and sharptails were in short supply in 2110, but we did well on pheaants.

Thanks for your comments. We are fortunate here to have quite a few places to hunt. The day of this hunt, temps. were a little below zero. Do have this pic saved.

Hey Topgun, you guys did very well. That is a great area to hunt. No better in the state. I have had the oppurtunity to hunt that area a few times. On a good year, it is awesome. Myself, I live nine miles West of Dickinson. Hope you get to hunt there again. Thanks for sharing the pics. You have a great looking pointer there.

I've been going out there since Hercules (Herc for short) was a year old and he will be 8 on 10/23. I won an auction for a 4 day hunt for 4 on private land near Regent with a house included for our stay. I have been going back out from MI in my camper ever since and hunting the public land in the area for the most part. There are so many birds most years that we just about have to break them up in a field sometimes before I can work the field with Herc or they drive him crazy, LOL! I'll be out there this year about 11/6 for a few days after I hunt AZ and WY in September and October for elk and deer. I was only up as far as Dickinson one time when we got hit with that early season blizzard several years ago and had to ride it out in a motel up there for 2 1/2 days. When we headed back down toward Hettinger later in the week the snow was so deep in the huntable areas that I couldn't even get around on snowshoes! The birds were all flocked up and you could see hundreds of them out in the open cut wheatfields where the snow was only 3-4 inches deep. They would just keep feeding several hundred yards ahead of us because it was so open and they could see you for miles. We ended up going home later that day and basically lost the whole hunt that year due to that blizzard.
