Weatherby PA-08 vs. Remington 887
I'm buying my first shotgun and I don't want to spend more than $500-$600 on it. I've been reading reviews here and there and have basically boiled it down to two guns. I've been wanting to get one for deer hunting, but mainly grouse hunting/wood**** hunting. The two guns are the Weatherby PA-08 and the Remington 887. Has anyone shot both or compared the two?

i dont know anything about the weatherby, but i do know about the remington 887. my advice, dont buy the remington. i would buy an 870 before i bought the 887. if your going to buy an 887, look into the benelli nova or super nova first. the benelli's are nice because they have a 3.5 inch chamber, so you can use it as a small game gun (2.75in shells), a waterfowl gun (3.5in shells), or as a buckshot gun for deer (3in or 3.5in). the benelli also offers separate rifled barrels if you would rather shoot slugs. i dont think the remington offers you that option. the benelli also offers a better package deal (3 chokes vs 1 with the 887), and a couple other small features
