Default best boots for dogs

i just tried the cabelas ones but the bottoms are slick and the dog falls all the time. they also chew up the tops of his feet just as bad as the bottoms get chewed up when he doesn't have them on. has anyone tried the big dog booties with the vibram soles? thanks

I have found boots do not work most of the time. The only time I ever use them anymore is if a dog tears a pad. Then I use alot of duct tape to keep them on.

The best thing to do is let them run on different types of surfaces (gravel, bean stubble, asphault, concrete, etc) this will toughen the pad. You can also buy some stuff called pad heal that helps, some old timers tell me to dip their whole foot in rubbing alcohol.

I have a buddy who uses these on his cowdog. She is always trashing her pads on job sites.

She has a tough time keeping them in snow. Otherwise they are very durable.
