The weather report is calling for winter weather as of right now for Saturday! I have been chasing toms here in NC for 7 years and this is the first time I've had to deal with this! Winter weather on opening day just isn't fair....I'm definetly not used to this type of hunting that's for sure!

Snow isn't what I'd ask for either, but I've hunted 2 opening days in the last 5 years with temps in the low 20's, high winds and 3" of snow on the ground with it still coming down hard. I didn't have all the gobbling I normally hear, but did manage to kill a nice gobbler the first of those times -- and he came DOWN the hill to my calling!

Head out regardless. The birds will be there. We killed one a couple of years ago on a snowy morning. The birds follwed the exact same pattern they had the day before when we scouted them.
