Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Need help selecting choke tube for 870 Rem. mag.

This is my second year turkey hunting. I managed to take a gobbler last year but I am not completely satisfied with the pattern I have. My gun is an 870 Rem. Mag. the best pattern I get is with a 3 in. - 1 3/4- #6.I am using the factory extra full tube that came with the gun. Has anyone with the same gun found an after market tube and shell that shoots a good pattern.

I've got a TruGlo extended and ported for mine and it works great. Gotta really watch it inside 20 yards, though. Really tight there, easy to miss 'em.

Hastings .665 with 3" mags & 2oz. of # 6
Comp N Choke .665 3" mags & 2oz. of #6 or #5 both work good out of my 870

out of my 1100 mag I use a hastings .660 with 3" mags, 2oz. of #6 or #5.

I bought a turkey choke for 19.95 and it patterns very well, I think it is a little tighter than full..

I use the Mad Max Choke - Put a bird between you and 40 sure thing - Confidence in your guns performance is very important when hunting turkey - I purchased the choke because it looked good on the gun - 870 3inch 21 inch barrel - Boy was I shocked with the performance - I even purchased one for my dad's gun Browing Gold 12 Turkey Gun that I purchased him for Christmas one year - That same year he took two birds at over 55 paces - I was the witness These tubes will perform

I'll throw in another plug for the Tru-Glo Strut-Stopper turkey choke as well. At $49.95 this is the biggest bargin going. Great patterns right out to the 40 yard marker!!! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
