Will it be alright to shoot the new Wincherster Xtended Range Hi-Density and Federal Heavyweight loads out of my 835 with the Ulti-Mag stock choke that came with the gun? I was concerned that the tungsten and mix of other metals in the shot would be too dense and ruin my barrel. Could someone tell me if it would be okay to use these loads? Thanks..

It's ok to shoot hevi-shot out of an 835 barrel it's the choke that you have to be concern about. From what I've heared Federal Heavyweight is the same as hevi-shot, Wincherster Xtended Range is softer then hevi-shot. I know the Mossbreg tells you not to shoot hevi-shot out of thier stander choke lead only. The Wincherster should be ok to shoot because
it said to be softer then most gun barrel and choke.

I know the Federals will be fine. I talked to the techs at Federal and they said the new heavyweight shot (its differenct than the hevi-shot of other makers) would be fine out of any choke. Its made with a different chemical process and is soft enough to be shot out of any choke. I dont know much about the Winchester.
