Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

35 yards tops Thats why they make turkey calls. Call them in close and drop them.

Maybe 107 ft. ..........................107yds either a rifle or a Mountain Howitzer(I dont think that the later 2 of those mentioned are legal for turkeys.........................I know rifles are in some states).[&:]

My longest with a 12 ga, 3" #4's, 1 7/8 oz of shot is 47 yards. That was a poke, but i killed him cleanly on the spot. a 3 1/2" load won't shoot any farther. same amount of powder, just more shot. i'd say the max shot i'd take is 50 yards. no farther. 60 is waaaayy out there, too much risk of wounding that bird instead of killing him.

107 yards?!?!?! That guy shouldn't even be allowed to turkey hunt. Sounds like he needs to put down his shotgun and pick up his call more often. If you can't call 'em in closer than that then you need to practice some more so you can get then to come in. Either that or work on your strategy/set up. Keep your shots within 50 yards no matter what your shooting unless you know without a doubt your gun setup can effective and reliably kill a turk out past that range. I think most ethical fair chase hunters would agree.....and you get more out of the hunt. If you are looking for a more challenging turkey hunt then try chasing them with a bow.

I have not turkey hunted in 6 years. When I did turkey hunt it was with my bow.

Now I reload my shot gun. I now manly use the gun for yotes. I have killed yotes at 100 yards many many times with 3 1/2 in.

I think the real question he ask was can it be done.I think it can be done. I do not think that it should be,turkeys are very tough critters to kill.
