got a box in the mail today it was my calls from JW great looking and sounding calls he drew some turkey feathers and tracks on them he has agreat deal send him wings and he sends you calls cannot wait to try them on the turks this spring JW at the end of May i will send you another big box full of wings Thanx for all your effort put into those calls Bill

Am so glad ya liked them and thank you for the big box of Merriam wings I got......my first at Merriams.....ain't all that different from the other two species I have worked on.


And just to let ya know .....I donated several set to several NWTF, Pheasants Forever dinners.....only could give them a 3/4 Salm as all I had was Easterns, Rios and with your help Merriams....

JW are your wing bone calls made out of Gobbler wings or hens??? Also is there any real difference in sound from the gobbler bones or the hens bones???

Unfortunately I use mostly Gobbler bones and they are bones people send me.

The older the bones the deeper the call. Hen wings bones still make the best call.

However Ihave a method that makes even old Tom bones sing to my satisfaction. It also makes the call easier for all to use.

I also do not sell these calls but am willing to make you a call.

My deal is
Send me a pair of wings and I make the best call I can and send it to you. I keep the other for myself.
Your call can have:
Your name
Date of Kill
Specie, ie Eastern, Rio, etc.
Wt of bird
length of beard
lentgh of spurs

and I also put a feather of my choice and a few turkey tracks.

I usually attach a lanyard and a bit of finish and send it back to ya...

You don't want your wings....well I pay for postage once I have them.

JW, I just remembered I never sent you my wings. I will have to dig them out of the freezer and send them.

JW that is some fine work you do. We are glad the there are guys like you that love to share with the rest of us.

Thanks - to me that is why we have this place.........as I said I will help anybody......had several make their own calls this year......to me it is the oldest form of calling turkeys....
