I like rosewood or chestnut for midrange calls .
Carbon and acrylics always cause me to squeal or scratch at random . Nearly all of my strikers are H.S.Strut models .

Try a laminated flared tip striker. Blodgett calls makes a good one. You could also order a Cody Hickory striker...

Try my friend Andy Kaiser at Kaiser Kalls He makes a variety of quality strikers using purpleheart, zebrawood, and many others. I have a glass call he made for me that sounds sweet!

I like my one-piece Cocobolo. It sounds sweet on anything. I like Purpleheart also.

I like the Mystic Stick by WoodsWise. That striker seems like it sticks to the surface of any call and plays wet to. Others I like are Primos purpleheart (great with the power crystal), H.S. Strut carbon and magic wand?

I agree with Mr. Longbeard. I got the Blodgett striker last year and it really sounds good with all my pot calls. Something about the flare I guess.
