How to cut slate for pot calls
I am in the process of making some pot calls and now I am to the thick pieces (3/8") of the chalk board that is slate and need to find out how to cut the right size pieces.
I have made 2 calls so far one is a slate over slate and the other is a glass over slate. I am having some more glass cut and should get them next week. I am just experimenting with them all right now to find out what really sounds good. The slate over slate sounds pretty good but I think the top piece is a little to thick and the glass over slate is ok i guess.
If somebody here knows how to cut a 3/8" thick piece of slate down to just under 1/8" I would really appreciate it. I can get the slate cut down but I will waste alot doing it by using a grinder.
Oh yeah if anybody can tell me to get some crystal I will like to try that to.
I got the idea from the January/February issue of Turkey Call Magazine.
Thanks.
