I have a small problem with my upcoming turkey hunting season. My wife has to be at work early, so I get the kids off to school every morning before I go to work. I took a weeks vacation to turkey hunt, but I still have to get the kids off to school at 8:30am. Should I camo up the kids and take them with me, hunt till 7:45 ish and then take them to school.........or wait and go after they get on the bus? They boys love to go dove hunting with me. I don't know if they can sit still enough to turkey hunt. I don't think a blind is in the budget this year, so they will be sitting on the ground with me. I am not worried about safety too much....on private property and the land owner hunts with me.We have never heard or seen another hunter in the woods, other than the occasional mushroom hunter. He said to bring them along. It would be easier to go after 8, but we ( the boys included) want to try and get one as they come off the roost. What do you think? They are 9 and 7 by the way.

If you take them with you set up some ground blinds. Do some early pre season scouting and set the blinds up accordingly.Take some heavy duty string and tie it between some good trees and cut some pine boughs, your kids will have a riot.
I had the same problem last year. The thing that kept worrying me is what if I get a bird going and it's time to take them to the bus.
I had several places to hunt around the house so it worked out great. I would hunt one early then go back or pick a new spot after my "break". The break gave me achance to regroup and figure out a game plan. Did get some weird looks taking my daughter to the bus in full camo.

Sounds like it is time for a sleep over during the week. Take the kids to their friends house the night before and hunt the morning after. 8 - 10 is for sleeping in the woods anyway. I let the birds wake me up.

I've got a similar problem this year. My wife doesn't work outside the home, but I've got two little ones that aren't in school yet and she doesn't like to get them up that early to take big brother to school. I've been pushing for her to let him get on the "cheese wagon", but she won't hear of it. We shall see what the spring will bring.
I've got too much time and $$ invested not to be able to get out there before daylight.

I was lucky I have lots of family that live close,so someone could always watch them while I had the opportunity to hunt! Now there plenty old enough to get off to school on there own!If ya have family, a good friend you can trust or even a sitter who's responsible I'd ask!!!

As Young-Buck said.
There is good gobbling at fly down usually - depending on the what time of month there is and then a lull that we all know about - but then the birds can crank back up. I have shot more birds from 10 to 3 OM than Ihave at 1st light!
Take care of family business and then hunt the day away - is what I would do.
