Default Multiple Beards

Just wondering how many of you have taken birds with multiple beards. I was fortunate to bag a merriams gobbler in Montana last spring with a double beard. It was such an exciting hunt that I didn't even notice the two beards at first. Neither are very big....7" and 5 1/2"...but I'm not sure I'll ever duplicate it!

I got a jake last spring that had dual 4" beards............didn't realize it until it was skinned and I was cutting the beard off, but there was about 1/2" seperating the two beards clearly. Thatn's the only one I have ever seen personally.

I've taken one with twin 9 1/2" beards, one with twin 8" beards, one with a huge 8" paintbrush and a spindly 4" beard and one with three small beards and the stub of a big fourth beard that had been lost to beard rot...

I was fortunate to arrow one a couple of springs back. He had 3 beards (I'd always hoped to get one with "two beards") 11 1/2 -7 1/2- 4 1/2. He weighed 23 1/2 lbs and had 1 1/2" spurs. I believe he would place high on the NWTF list of nontypicals with a bow. However, looking at him everyday in my living room is reward enough.

My brother got one a couple years back that had two beards. That we really never heard of around our area. It was really awesome. Althought the second beard was only about 2-3 inches it was still a nice bird. Good luck, - Buckhunter

I have an Eastern I took in KS that has a 10 3/4" and a 9 3/4" beard set, nice heavy bird 24lbs and 1 3/8'' spurs. That is my only multiple beard bird.
