Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I was fortunate to have taken only two multi-bearded birds over the years. First one was back on 5-28-96, and this guy had 6 beards total!!! A main beard length of 10 3/8" along with a 5", 3 - 5 1/2", and a short stubby 1". Weight wise he only went 17 lbs.
Here's a pic of that bird.

My second multi-bearded gobbler was taken back on 5-30-03, another end of the season gobbler here in NY. He had a 9 3/4" main beard along with a 8" secondary one. Weight wise he went 16.9 lbs. Just goes to show you, after almost two months of runnning around and mating, gobblers will loose almost 5-6 lbs of body weight near the end of the season!! Here's a pic of that bird.

I shot one that had double beards around 8 inches. Never measured them though.

Was with another hunter in camp that shot one with 9 beards!!! By the time we saw them he had cut them off and I suspect they got thrown away by now. Thats been a long time back. No one in camp could believe he would not mount the bird to show them off. What a rarity. What a friggin idiot. And it seems its those folks that don't care that stumble into stuff like that.....
