Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I had 14 adult hens by my pond yesterday no poults. It's been raining all spring and summer in northeast Ohio. I live in the number 1 turkey county in Ohio [Ashtabula] Most farmers I have talked are seeing hens with no poults. This is are 3 year in arow of wet weather. Our kill was way off this spring. Next spring is going to be real bad.

Not only turkey buckslayer, but ashtabula has a good number of record book bucks as well. I hunt in brown county and clermont and hamilton. The population is sucking we as hunters need to do what we can if anything to keep the numbers up here in ohio.

We have one bunch with the poults of mixed size that I was able to count 23 young ones in and tree other bunches that are smaller . Its been a very good year so far hot and dry . We also hit the predators pretty hard this spring and it seem to be paying off . Hal

Just today i saw a hen with about 5 or 6 yougsters with her.. they saw me coming and she ran while they flew. they only flew about 15 feet off the groung and went about 30 yards then hit the ground and ran with her. It was pretty neat.
