Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Whatever gun you decide on you will have to pattern it for turkey hunting. If the gun is not camoflauged you will have to do that also. Both will work very well for turkey as long as you do these two things. Good luck.

I bought a remington 870 express super mag with synth stock that looks like wood, and couldn't be happier. The parkerize like finish on it stood up great during the wet/cold early turkey season we had in Michigan (I had ice forming on my muzzle on one morning.) I also used the "Ventilator" choke put out by remington which seemed to pattern well with 2.25 oz of #6.

thats a tough one I'm stuck 50/50 between both, a 870 is a tough as nails gun but so is the mossberg, well if i had to boil it down Id like the 870 better because of the steel trigger guard and the mossbergs is Polymer plastic. But the mossberg with its over bored and ported barrel eases the heavy recoil of a 3.5 inch magnum better and Produces a tighter pattern. The mossberg is lighter in weight and is easier to lug around. Oh yea I just remembered why I dont like 870's the butt stock feels to small and skinny feels funny. I have no problems with mossbergs stocks they feel perfect but if I chose a 870 I would deffinately replace the stocks with something else probably butler creek or better yet Mossbergs replacement stock for the rem 870.

Be sure to check out the Winchester 1300 Black shadow. I've been very happy with my 1300 since 1992, it has never let me down!!
