I have had them gobble in total darkness on quite a few occasions.
I roosted a bird on evening and he would gobble every time I would hoot for a solid hr. and a half.must to have been 50 times after total blackness.

I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest

remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.

Cant give you an exact # but a whole bunch!!2 of the birds i killed last year gobbled hour and half before flydown!I remember one bird years ago that started gobbling at a quarter after 4.We waited seemed like forever for him to finally pitch out of the roost and come to us.Dont have a clue as to how many times he gobbled but he was only about 200 yards off a major highway and every time a car drove by he would gobble.Dont know why but it made for a pretty exciting morning! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
