Hunted Oh.,PA. and WV. all 5 shotgun kills. OH -20yards and 25yards. PA. 20yards. WV. 10yards and 20yards.

First shot at him was around 35 the last shot was 40-45 when I dropped him.

i have two turkey takers! rem exp super mag shooting #4 hevishot and browning A500-G with carlsons .670 choke and #4 hevishot.both will take turkeys at 50 yards with ease. while i don't take long shots just to see if i can do it, where i hunt the shots can be long due to hunting pressure on public land.btw i have taken more birds under thirty yards than i have over 40 yards.

My first one was about 55 yards and my second was at 30. They both dropped right where they were.

55 yds - GA (son shot)
35 yds - GA
22 yds - NC (buddy shot)
30 yds - UT

Ist bird 48 yards. 2nd bird 35. First one was 24lbs 10 and a half inch beard , 1.25 inch spurs. The second was weighed 24.50, beard 11.50, and spurs 1.75.

26 yards... BOOM! Only about 10 yards from making off with my decoy. He would have offered an even closer shot, but he ran off the jake that came in from the opposite ridge just moments before he came to my calls.
