RE: 2004 turkey
Thanks for the help Froman. How do you post the pics?
Here is the story:
It rained and thundered all morning, so I stayed home. About 1:00 pm the sun came out. I figured what the heck. I bumped a hen on a ridge the previous afternoon, so I figured I'd give that place a shot. It was very windy. I set up 2 hen decoys, and set up against a tree. I made some calls and waited. About 15 minutes later 2 hns came in. They looked at my decoys ( which by now looked pretty funky because the wind blew them almost over) and moved on. I was going to get up to fix the decoys, but decided not to since a gopbbler may be nearby. I sat there another 10 minutes or so and was looking down at my slate call. When I looked up there was the gobbler. He must have been following the hens. I shot him as soon as I could get the gun up. He didn't look like he was going to hang around. He weighed 23 pounds, 23 mm spurs, 10 1/2 inch beard. I guess I called in the hens, and the gobbler was following.
