Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Welp I got my second bird yesterday. Nice 2 year old.(THANK GOD FOR 2 YEAR OLDS)

Also thank god for semi auto shotguns

21lbs
10" beard
7/8" spurs

I roosted this bird the night before. Came in the next morning. He started gobbling at 5:45 and he must of gobbled 50 times on the roost. This enabled me to sneak to within 75-80 yards of his tree. After the sun finally came up to were I could see good. I see the bird up on the limb strutting and gobbling. He was staying on the limb for a long time. So I hit him with a fly down and a few clucks to let him know were I was. I watched him pitch down off the limb and hit the ground. Next time I hear him gobble he is heading away from me. I had a pretty good Idea were he was heading so I packed up and hauled A. I got to were I thought he might be heading and sure enough. 30 minutes later I hear him gobble 100 yards away. I hit him with a few calls and hear he comes double timimg down threw the woods. Once he was within 40 yards I lost him in the under brush and the next time I see him he moved about 10 yards. So when I made my move he seen me and I had to take my shot. About 35 yards threw a few saplings. Welp the sapling must of took up some of the pattern because he takes to the air and starts to fly away. Thats were the thank god for semi autos come into play I folded him up with the 3rd shot at about 40-45 yards. Remington Hevi Shot did the trick!!!

I've lost about 10 pounds have blisters on my feet and cramps in my legs at night while I sleep. Other than that I've had a pretty good season...

Nice job Longbeard!!Sounds like you made a great move in repositioning on that bird!I agree 2 year olds have a tendency to make alot of frusterating seasons turn into memorable ones!

Congratulations! You did a good thing cutting that bird off - same thing happened with me and the hubby yesterday - only we never did make it to where the bird was heading. Maybe next time.....
