Default PA guys!! how was ur turkey hunt so far??

Mine wasnt too good , but i have had close calls the past 2 weeks with the youth opener and the season opener.... on the youth day i had 3 gobblers about 100 yards away feeding with hens , but they jsut wouldnt come in , and yesterday i had 2 roosted , but they flew uphill , and dissappeared never to be heard again .... my uncles friend got a decent bird 19 lb ,9.5 inch beard , and 1 inch spurs , i cant wait to tag my first bird , i get excited jsut hearing them , and shake like a leaf when thy r in view , maybe tommorow is the day ....

Yup, maybe tomorrow is the day, good luck. Remember, when callin birds, you always want to be above them, or at least on the same level as them when hunting hill sides. If you know where they are roosted, get above them unless you know they pitch to a field or particular area. It's also easier to position yourself for a downhill shot and when a bird is above you, they spot you easier looking down over their surroundings.

Good luck, just a couple little tips...and you know how my opener went, your responded to my topic....I'm two for two, last weekend with the youth opener and one for myself opening morn, yesterday.
