Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Rhino Choke and Nitro Hevi-shot, YEAHHHH.

I shot my new Rhino Choke today vs: my Rem Ventilator. Both was shot at 42 yards. My gun was a Rem 870 Super-Mag, shooting Nitro Hevi-Shot #5's, 2 1/4oz loads. The Rhino came out on top , but not by much. Here are some pics. The top 2 pics are the same with one being a close-up, same with the bottom 2 pics.

These 2 where shot with the Rhino .660 ported Choke there was a total of 232 hits in the 11"X11" target with about 45 in head and neck.

These 2 where shot with the Remington Ventilator .655 ported Choke there was 173 hits in the target with about 35 in the head and neck.

So the Rhino choke had 29% more pellets in the head/neck, and 34% more pellets in the 11" sq target than the Ventilator. I'd call that coming out on top a little more than "not by much." That Rhino choke sounds like a keeper. I just wish they didn't cost so much.

LOL Drift, I guess you are right, but I was a firm believer in the Ventilator for a few years and did'nt want to sound to negative about it I guess. You're right about the price also, they are a bit on the high side.

Totoe, I almost bought a Hastings this year instead of the Rhino, Have you shot Hevi-Shot thru your Hasting and how well did it do for you?
