I was just wondering if there was any CO residents on the board who might have some pointers for a sophmore turkey chaser in the NorthWest corner of CO? Wewwwww that was a run on sentence if i ever saw one! Anyway hope to hear from someone from the flat-tops/bookcliffs area...

Hello MtnGuy------I've from the SW corner of Colorado. With the Merriams down here at least, I've found if they are with hens it's real tuff calling them in . The hens seem to go 180 degrees the other way !! I A couple of weeks into the season seem to be better hunting. The hens are starting to nest & the toms are pretty lonely. Also, it helps to get ahead of the birds & call from where the turkey is heading, if that makes sense.

Boy what a small world. I grew up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. My dad used to take hunters out all the time. He hunted the Flat Tops, Whisky Park, Big Red Park, Yampa, Craig, Maybell, etc, etc, etc. Still have contacts up there. I'll check into it for you if you would like.
Saw someone post to your message from Montana, I went to college in Missoula. Small world indeed.
