Got on site and set up early. Nobody really to worry about. Saw alot of cars on the lot but not in the feild.
At 6:35 am it all started to come alive. 360 deg. amphitherater. Loved it. Then at 6:45am I made the call, and got the gobble sound I was looking for. Note: last year when I got a Osceola I never heard him once.
But the bad news, I also heard another hunters call. Off in the distance but it really sounded sweet. this hunter was a master of the vocal art. Have to hand it to him. Someday I hope to attain that type of skill. Anyway the fly down came and the Tom went to him and not me.[X(][X(][X(][X(]
15 minutes after the first gobble to the bang that didn't come from my gun. Then came the hooting and hollaring. Again, not from me. But what I have learned from my really short experience and hunting knowledge is that I'm getting closer and better at finding them. With the lotto you have to be in to win. With turkey hunting you have to locate them to even have a chance.
Loved the whole time I was out there today. Really felt great to see the zone come alive around me. Had hens with in 10 yards of not only me but the decoys too.
Plan on going back tomorrow and trying again. Here's some pics for you all of my hunting area and one of a Florida Panther. These tracks are all over the place.

I would have been sick getting that close and had someone else shoot right next to me. I guess if you're used to hunting public land(sounds like in Florida most are) you get used to this stuff. Oh well, maybe it's your turn tomorrow.
