Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I am thinking about buying this call, but there are 2 one with crystal I believe and one with frictionite. What is the difference and which would you recommend?

My son has the one with frictionite and it is simple to use and gets great sounds. Haven't tried the glass one.

I bought the freak last year and liked it. Didn't try the glass one so I can't help you there but for bow hunting this call is the balls! When I'm hunting with my "turkey rollers" (870 & 1187) I use my Cody calls, glass and slate. They sure do sound sweet when working in a love struck longbeard.

I have never used the glass one but I and a bunch of guys I hunt with all own the frictionite one. I have found it very easy to use and I love the ability to strap it onto my leg or gun or whatever.

I haven't tried the Freak, but I did get the Panhandler by HS Strut this year. There is a thread on here that brought it to my attention and I found it a Walmart for under $10. The advantage of the Panhandler, is you can use any slate type call with it. It will adjust to fit the call and I haven't had any problems with it changing the tone of my calls. It is just like the Freak, except you can interchange the calls.
