lAST FRIDAY I was doing a job in a rural part of one of the counties I work in and I could hear these dogs barking way off. I didn,t pay much attenion to it the first time I heard it as I was pretty engrossed in what I was doing. Then I heard them again and guess what? That wasn't no dog barking it was TURKEYS GOBBLEING. Got me jacked up!

I ALWAYS CARRY A MOUTH CALL WITH ME. NOV. 17 DURING THE FIRST WEEKEND OF DEER SEASON WITH FIREARM, I HAD A FLOCK OF 14 COME OUT ABOUT 80 YARDS FROM MY STAND. NOT MANY DEER MOVING, SO I DECIDED TO EXPERIMENT. THREW IN THE OLD RASPY AND CALLED THE WHOLE FLOCK IN. THERE WAS 2 TOMS AND 2 JAKES IN THE BUNCH. ALL 4 WERE GOBBLING-AWESOME. HALFHOUR LATER KILLED A BRUTE 9-POINTER. NOT A BAD MORNING!

Tons of sightings. No gobbling. Nearly every night driving home from work, I see them in a field bordering private (no hunting) property owned by Xerox. One time the flock was about 30 strong. Somewhat rare to see so many at one time around here. Mild winter and hopefully mild spring should allow for a good number of poult to survive.

My dad and i were coming home from our farm and when we came around a turn i saw about 30 of them. my dad stopped the truck in the middle of the road. i got out my bios and i could see about 10 jakes and a couple toms. a couple HUGE toms. well i just was hoping that they were heading to my farm.
