I used to raise some fainting and pigmy goats for kicks. They would chase the chickens and the domestic turkeys around sometimes. That would be the only thing that I can think of, goats chasing the turkeys off maybe.

I would say if the turkeys had been in those woods before your father put the goats in there, they are just avoiding the goats because somthing new has been introduced to their environment. It might take the turkeys awile to adjust, and to realize the goats are not a threat to them, but I would say they'll be back.

Every ranch I hunt around these parts have livestock on it and I've had en screw up a hunt more than once, not by the gobbler being afraid of the livestock but just by being in the way.One thing about goats is they will strip the land clean of any and all vegetation and they could be making your land less appetizing to your turks!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I,like Bobgobble2 hunt land that has livestock on it.Hell, we hunt together alot. But here's my point: I really don't think trouble with livestock is your problem. I had a bird coming in once and watched a calf try to play with him. Everytime that calf would get close enough to him he would jump up and wack him with his wings! The calf finially had had enough and went back to mama and the bird continued on in like nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

all depends on the turkey. i have killed birds following cows around waiting for that hot lunch, but i have also had cows trample my decoys. so it could go either way.
