Hevi Shot
#1
I have used lead #4's out of my 12 guage in three inch shells. They seem to work pretty good on turkeys. I have killed my fair share of the toms with lead, but I have heard a lot of people praising the remington Hevi Shot. Do you like hevi shot or do you dislike it? What size of it should I use? Is it worth the price? What results have you had and how many birds have you gotten with it?

i started using the 3.5x4 hevishot turkey load after taking my first tom and took the next two over 50 yards neither of which moved after the shot.i will use them until i run up on something better.i have used federal premium and winchester supreme both in 3.5x4 and had no complaints on either one.

I use the Remington Hevi-Shot in 3", #6 ,1 5/8 oz. load.I have a Remington 1187 Supermag and it is by far the best shell I have shot.I have a Hevi-Shot .665 choke and the pattern at 30 yards is the size of a sheet of notebook paper.Last spring was the first year I used them and I took a gobbler at 14 yards and a jake at close to 60.I wouldn't recommend shooting past 40 yards with any load. The jake I shot was a stupid shot but I just got caught up in the heat of the moment and won't do it again.
It may not do as good in your gun as it does in mine. Each gun is different.
Good Luck.

It sounds pretty good for the hevi shot. I will probably go to it this year. I have not heard one person criticize it yet and that seems pretty good. Do I need to stay at #4's or what? Will #6's in hevi shot work as good as #4's in lead? Everybody says that it has a good pattern too. huh. sounds pretty good.
