Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Rio Grande Turkey

Hey Guys,
I just got back from a hunt in South Texas and the R. G. Turkey's are huge. When the turkeys that I seen were standing straight up it looked like it was at least 3' from the ground to the top of its head. Was I just imagining that or are they really that big. I thought it was an Ostrage at first.

Rio's have a little longer legs then some of the other spieces , but over average they are the same size. The weight factor in the Rio's are slight lighter then some aswell and that makes them look a little taller...BT

Adrian anwered the question perfectly. They may be just a little skinnier but they can be quite a bit taller than other types of turkeys.
