From my experience, if you can arrange to have a jet fly over, the birds go crazy! A squeaky truck driving down a bumpy road works good too. Otherwise I use a crow call or predator call.

I have had the most luck with a crow call. There are so many owls where I hunt it is like they are used to them. I usually try to hoot a little, but the crow call really gets 'em going.

A truck door does work but is gets a little heavy carring it around with you. Owl hooter earily morning and evening. Crow Call Mid morning and afternoon.

I ALWAYS STRART WITH AN OWL BEFORE AND AT DAYLIGHT AND IF THAT DONT MAKE HIM SAY ANYTHING I WILL TRY A CROW CALL. AFTER THE SUN IS UP REAL GOOD A CROW CALL AS WORKED BEST FOR ME ALTHOUGH AFTER READING SOME OF THE RESPONSES THAT YOU HAVE GOT I MIGHT PUT SOME KIND OF DUCK CALL IN MY VEST..
