Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Season off to a great start

Including youth day the season is 7 days old here in Maine
and so far I've helped my son take a Jake, another ten
year old take a Jake, a 67 year old first time Turkey hunter
take a Jake. Also called in a Tom for my friends son
but he got excited and shot a little too soon and missed.
Today I got a nice Tom which I believe is the same bird I
hunted 8 days last season with no shot opportunity.
Today he made the mistake of following his 4 hens to me.
Life is good!

I hunt several different areas in mid coastal Maine.
How is your hunting going up in the Augusta area?

Up my way it has slowed down a lot .. Nothing being vocal and with the hens ignoring us pretty much..

Last Saturday I shot 1 15 lb jake with a 5.5" beard. I think it was a early polt from 2013.
