Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

It will come, I will more than likely be eating tag soup this season myself. Only had one day to get out in the evening so far, other then that season ends on May 10th and that just so happens to be my schools final exam week.

Black Warrior WMA, which is in Bankhead National Forest. I would prefer private land, but I can't find any to hunt that has turkey, only deer. Still, it's a lot better than nothing.

Friar ... There is a good population of turkeys in Talladega NF as well. Might want to try down that way a time or two.

Thanks. I think I'm going to do just that. I understand there is a limited area for fall hunting; I think it includes Talladega NF around Talladega, Sylacauga, and so forth, but I don't have the regs in front of me. I'm planning to go down there this fall and see if I can get one then.

I thought I would have a chance at hunting some private land in Tuscaloosa County this year, but Easter and a family vacation got in my way. 2015 looks more promising for that. My understanding is those birds haven't been hunted nearly as hard as the ones I was after this year.

I've had very good luck and taken quite a few birds in rain. Just generally not off of the roost.

I've eaten more than one bowl of tag soup in my day, but not this year. Took an Eastern in VA and a Rio in CO. Hope to get a Merriams in CO this fall too.

Keep trying. It will all come together at some point and it is magical when it does.
