I have been scouting my turkey hunting area for sometime and tonight there were 7 mature toms. They were about 200 yards from where I can hunt. They were a strutting but the hens were not interested. There must have been at least 6 jakes and about 14 to 16 hens. Two jakes ran away when the toms started to puff up and fan out. Sure was nice to see them I was thinking it was going to be a hard year for me to find any birds. They were red headed and it looks like it won't be long now. I have one more week left to give it a try.
