Treestand....I understand your frustration. It sounds like you were " blown off" by a few select individuals versus the NWTF as an organization. Its unfortunate that these individuals ignored your requests. It may be that they were just lazy, unmotivated, or frankly just didn' t care, but don' t let that be a measure of the NWTF as an organization. Can I suggest you call 1-800-NWTF or visit their website at nwtf.org for information on how you can become a member? Trust me and the others who have in earlier posts stated that they are a fine organization. You' ll be glad you did.

Ya but I contacted the state Rep--the local chappter Rep and another member---I tried to call 3 people at the national level and got answering machines! An Org is made up of members and like it or not they are reps. of the org. Mainly all I wanted ( over a year ago) was a seed mixture to plant for Turkeys---not free seed ---just the mixture---then this spring when I shot the big turkey I wanted to get it in their book---too late now

the NWTF is suppositly a good orgn.I was a member for years and years.I took a real large ; I mean a real large osceola gobbler[8D] and wanted it in the record books( no real reason;just for the hell of it)just to have a bird in the book.
When I contacted them,they sent me the papers,and I filled them out;my witness was not a member of the NWTF,so they would not take the appilaction.[:@][:@][>:][:' (]my word for the kill was not good enough.

they got my last penny.if my word and a witness is not good enough for them then my money is not good enough for them either............it seems as if they only wants the money.........it also seems they are calling me a liarer......JMO..

You get more out it, if you put into it. Join the NWTF and VOLUNTEER. You' ll be amazed what you' ll get out of it. Most of the nay sayers I hear just sit and b!#ch and mope. Work for the benefit of the turkeys and your fellow turkey hunters. You' ll be really dig it!

This is a good discussion topic. I like to support any organization that works on creating a strong game flock. Thanks for the advice, I will be joining the organization.

Yank, Well I' m kinda leary of joining an org. That makes promises and don' t keep them, an org that you cannot contact when you want to! I' m not saying that I' ll never join, just that I' m unhappy the way that I have been treated so far. It has been over a year since they promised to send me a seed mix to plant for Turkeys--I live next to 1000' s of acres of national forest and figure they would want to help the birds! They don' t " have" to do anything for me as I' m not a member! I just thought that they would want to help the birds by helping me! Not one person has helped me, I thought some one here would!


I' ll just do it on my own!
