They were pretty reception here in Easter NY... got one opening am right off the roost. They beat me in another spot the next day, but got him right off the roost the first Sunday... also called in a few others that came in on a string..

Look's like the second half of the month might be better.....been finding the woods as quiet as a church as well. Like Jal says...patience!!!

What I am finding is that there is a few areas where the birds are gobbling. Most areas are as quite as can be and not a sound can be heard. I am thinking that here at least it is the jakes that are gobbling now. Those bigger birds are just being quite even without the hens with them. They appear to know that something is wrong.. I got a bird this morning and not one gobble came from them, 2 Toms and 4 hens showed up..
