I would like some recommendations. I work at a public library in Kentucky and we are considering creating a hunting call collection to circulate. What would you recommend that we offer in a "starter" collection of calls. We are thinking about starting out with calls for white tail deer and turkeys. Keep in mind that if any calls would be used that would touch your mouth we would have to be able to clean them thoroughly...preferably by soaking them.

Certainly you would want box calls, slate and glass calls and some push/pull callers for turkey display. Also, you may want to add a gobbler tube which are activated by shaking the the tube. all these would be operated by hand and none touch your mouth.

Owl calls and crow calls are used in turkey hunting (a male turkey will gobble back at just about any loud noise during mating season). Some owl calls are all plastice and would be easy to disinfect.
