Alabama Public Hunting Land Suggestions?
Due to a hunt cancellation, I've found myself with a couple days on my hands and an Alabama license. Can anyone suggest any public land spots? Not looking to jump anyone's honey-hole, just looking for a push in the right direction. I'm open to just about any part of the state. Thanks in advance- Uncle Nick

If you are here now I'd say hunt Oakmulgee or Choccolocco. If you are going to be around after April 1st there are also the options of Skyline and Black Warrior.
If you go Choccolocco or Oakmulgee don't miss out on the Talladega National Forest land that surrounds the WMA's.
All 4 are somewhat large. Mayfield Creek or 704D is a good place to start at Oakmulgee. Choccolocco and Skyline are somewhat unfamiliar to me but are two of the best in the state. Black Warrior is the largest WMA in the state. Check out the map and find Zone B. If you can find the food plot numbers 1-4 that is a great place to start.

Check with the rangers' office in Talladega Nat Forest. I've seen lots of sign in the section off I-85 east of Montgomery. Also ask the state about any WMAs in the SW part of the state, near HWY 84, between Gilbertown-Frisco City. There's a lot of turkeys in those flat woods down there.
