Default NY Birds

Got a nice Gobbler this morning in northern NY. picture isnt the best but all i had was a camera phone. I have heard 3 different birds in the past two mornings. weighted 21lbs with a 9" beard. Not bad for coming off state land. Anybody else have any luck?

Yes, shot one this morning outside of Cortland, 22#, 9" beard, stubby 7/8" spurs. Yesterday was a washout with the rain & fog that rolled in at 10:00.

The birds are acting oddly, very little gobbling on the roost, but they are firing up an hour or two after flydown. Strange....

Yeah I didnt get mine untill 9:30am Also heard very little gobbling on the roost. He was pretty close, Probably around 20 yards. Im shooting Winchester Extended 1 3/4oz of #5, its just a standard full choke, but my Beretta shoots pretty tight.

Where in northern ny did you kill your turkey? I'm from northern ny.

This morning, my friend and I had about 5 of them fired right up screaming at us, my buddy shot the only one that closed the distance, 20lb, 10" beard, 1 3/16" hooks.

Birds in my area seem to have lock jaw.So far I've only heard one gobble a few times WAY OFF in the distance.Only a lone hen has come to my calling.
