Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Thumbs up Indiana Tom Down

After 8 days of hard hunting my Buddy Kent has had success! I have had to encourage him to stay after them because the hunting has been hard here in Southern Indiana at times. I have met hunters who have thrown in the towel and given up,but I sought to encourage them to stay at it because they are still there and willing. He got to his spot this morning and had 3 Toms gobbling good,so he began the work of getting them to come to his 2 decoys. One was interested and began to move toward the Hens, well he is now silent as the grave and headed for the freezer, Here some pictures one which is not so good from Kents phone. I hope to get some better ones later with the stats on the bird.
Guys don't give up! Press on and give it all you got, your Turkeys is waiting for you. The Bird was 21 lbs. 11 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/4 spurs taken at 10 to 12 yards with a Browning 12 guage 3 1/2 heavy shot loads. The other 2 gobbled even after the shot not to far away. Enjoy!

Congrats to your buddy! It looks like a decent bird from the picture.. I agree with the don't give up the turkeys are out there and the one I got yesterday never made one little bit of a gobble at all. The place I called at first and left the birds were on the road at strutting at 11:30.. Strange as it appears you just never know what they will do.. But they surely are out there waiting for you..
