Will cold temperatures affect turkey activity tommorrow morning? The reason I am asking is because I can only hunt till 5:45 am. This is my first year turkey hunting, so im really excited!

from what i have noticed here it doesnt. The breeding cycle progresses as the daylight hours get longer. The turkeys can tolerate cold weather. One thing i have noticed though is that they do not like wind. On windy days here in south dakota they seem to stick really low in the creek bottoms and dont seem to travel as far.

I have taken birds with snow on the ground and they gobble. I also have taken birds in light rain and snow and they gobble. I also have taken birds when it is 70 to 80 degree's and they also have gobbled. I also been in the same conditions and nothing. I do think weather has some effect but then I have seen it both ways. Turkeys are just turkeys and very unpredictable. Temps can make a differance but you need to get where the birds are at and do your thing. Good luck
