Shotgun barrels
#11
On the Nitro company site, they have patterned many shells and barrel lengths while testing their shells. The shell companies base there speed (FPS) on the 30" barrel length. Hence, if your shooting a much shorter barrel length, your velocity will be a little slower each inch you drop off in length.
That being said, the 26" barrel is the best compromise as far as speed wise and manuverability in the woods. I myself am shooting a Winchester 1300 with a 21" barrel, does it hinder me, no. Will I go out and buy a new gun with a 26" barrel, No. I'm happy with the way my gun carries and patterns now. It's all personal preference all the way.
