Remington Super-Full turkey choke....deadly
For all you Remington 870 owners who have been searching like I have for the deadly choke I think I have found the answer! First, let me share with you I spent $23 on a H.S. Strut Undertaker which after testing three different brands of ammo delivered disappointing results. I was able to try my friends Remington Extended Super-Full Turkey Choke which delivered awesome results (about 40 pellets in the kill zone) if not more? It also seemed it wasn' t " picky" on ammo either. We tried Winchester and Remington with similar results each time. I can readily recommend this choke for 870 or 870 Super Mag owners. The ammo was 3" #6' s. Give it a try! You won' t be disappointed.

KitsapCaller- Just curious on the length of your barrel?? Also, what range were you shooting from? I' ve got a 28" barrel on my 870 and still looking for that killer choke...

I' m shooting a Remington 870 Super Mag with the 28" barrel. I also saw this choke used on a regular 870. The results with the Rem Super-Full choke were the same....deadly at 40 yards. Does that answer your question okay?

Thankds KitsapCaller. That answers it. Loner, I just switched to a StarDot choke (.668 ID) and have had poor patterns at long range (40 yds) and decent patterns at about 25-30. I never tried #6 shot tho, hear that does okay out of a Stardot choke... Going to try that when I get a chance. From your email, I guess you have had no problems shooting HeviShot out of your Stardot? I thought those were supposed to be for lead shot only? Maybe just the mfg. covering their backside...

I have a Rem 870 super-mag with a 23" barrel and the Rem. Ventilator will out perform both the super full and extra full chokes pretty bad in my gun, it may be the barrel length.
