I hope all turkey hunters will join the NWTF. I have been getting seed for deer and Turkey at half price, that has helped alot in the last few years. the chapter here is suffering because ppl like to go to the banquets but not join. Our prizes are getting worse and our jakes are getting few. Support the NWTF !!!!!!!!!

If it isn't that way everywhere it should be. (Having to buy a memebership to attend the banquet unless you're already a member.)<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

I agree proturkeycaller, You should join if you go to a banquet. I thoutht thats how it was everywhere also. I know some have issues with the NWTF, I do to, but its the best thing we got going for us turkeyhunters. If there are certain things a person doesnt like about the NWTF they need to join a chapter and then try to make a difference. No organization is going to make ALL of the members happy all the time.

I am a comitte member myself and so far our banquets, jake days, and WITO events have been great. This year some buisnesses that gave last year are not this year. Must be the economy right now.
Take care.

I agree with HOSS, PROTURKEYCALLER, BRUSHBUSTER
it should be that way all over. It is that way every banquets I go to. Usually sign up a Jake member if I find a kid that in interested in Turkey hunting. Take a kid to a Banquet they will love all the stuff and the auctions too.

I definately agree with all of you fellas here. The banquets and othere funtions that they provide and help set up are for a worthy cause. To many hunters take without giving back for alot of reasons.Dont care, uneducated, and the fact we're hit on every corner for money from various hunting organazations for memberships.Understand that not only are many of these groups beneficial to the sport you so much love, with habitat management programs and reintroductory programs, they also fight for your rights to keep and bear arms to continue to be able to hunt.2 years ago here in Calif we lost our trap and transfer program headed by the NWTF and Dept of Fish & Game. The do-gooders charged us with introducing a non native specie to Calif and consequently we lost our right to continue this program that was highly successful in reintroducing turkeys to new areas throughout Calif. You may not like some of the things they say and do but its very hard to get anything positive done by yourself. These groups speak with a very loud voice when it comes election time and thats the main reason I support groups like the NRA,Ducks Unlimited, and the NWTF.Dont make the mistake of putting yourself in a shell and thinking nobody can bother you, because believe me theres a huge group of people out there that think us hunters are killers and not conservationists, and would love to take our right to hunt away from us.Support your local chapter and be part of a group that not only has the welfare of the turkey in mind but also the continued right we all have in being able to hunt our great land!

This will be my 1st NWTF banquet, after 6 or 7 years of hunting wild turkeys.
Like most, I started just &quot;tagging&quot; along my 1st year we killed a beautiful 25 pound TOM on the last day. That was it from there on I was Archery only and becoming more obsessed every season. We are have awsome hunting oppertunities here in Wisconsin thanks to NWTF! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
I was under the assumption that EVERYONE who attends the banquet is a member or will be after the $60.00 fee for the banquet that night. Yes the food and prizes are good but not that good. I will join the NWTF one way or another, but I need a night out with the boys talkn' turkey !
Can't wait till the 2002 permits come out, I'm hopping for a bonus tag. There are zone's with 20,000 kill tags this year. I bow hunt from a Double Bull with a video set up also. It's hard to run the camera and get ready at the same time but I have no interest in filming a kill. Just looking for more time in the field. <img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt; Good topic haveme1. In addition to being a life member and Bronze level sponsor,I was also Wyoming State Chapter President from 1992 - 1996. I have chaired several banquets over the years, and many times guys would show up wanting to pay for dinner and &quot;just go to the auction&quot;. I can tell you that we never permitted it. These guys are looking for a fun night, but have no intention(in most cases)of becoming supporters or even spending any money to help out your chapter. Your banquet committee needs to put their collective foot down, and insist that &quot;every body has to buy a membership&quot;..... Most of 'em will.
