Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Last weekend I saw a lot of toms displaying and one was all by himself just gobbling his head off in a field at like 10 am...from what I've seen it really depends on what year...last year was really late...this year it seems like 3rd or even 4th season have been pretty decent

I have had most of my luck during the 2nd week. I have never hunted the first week, because in the northern part of the state where I hunt weather is too much of a factor. I would say most guys have the best luck in seasons 1-3. After that, birds are harder to hunt, especially in heavily pressured areas. You can still get birds during the later weeks, but it usually becomes more of a waiting game rather than that intense calling that a lot of guys like. Then again, it all depends on the birds and how they are feeling...

best of luck...

I hunt in Grant County and we bagged two nice toms last period, One at 2:00 in the afternoon, came running to a hen call, and the second was off of roost the next morning. Birds were gobbling pretty heavily but not for a long period of time, maybe a half hour and then they went quiet, except for the ones coming to our set up, they both continued to gobble.
