I like early season!![
]

We have killed 9 rattlers over the last few weeks and they just give me the creeps!!![
]Early season here they are still pretty burrowed up but the the last 2 weeks of our season when temps get warmer we always run into a couple and those early predawn mornings I find myself starting to tiptoe my way around the woods!Or as I like to tell my huntin buddy you go first!!!

always wondered why in the world they made them big ole snakeproof boots....i love snakes...they amaze me so much...i found my first rattler last year...i thought it was a black snake till i got close and had the tail in my hand...man are them things aggressive...and i think he sensed my body heat so when i would move i could watch his head move following me......i was in the middle of nowhere walking an old logging road....i was about 1/2 mile from camp..im glad i didnt get bitten....but i dont think there that bad up here we need to kill any or get snakeproff boots.....though im sure it wouldnt be a horrible idea in some parts of the state......

well, personally if it was up to me, all snakes could stay but the rattlers and moccasins....copperheads......they are just to dang agressive.....i know they do good to the world, but i just don' t like em...i used to kill em(marinate in bbq sauce for 24 hours and fry em up,it' s the best), but now i go out of my way not too....i' ll even scoot them off the roads...i hunt barefooted most of the time, i go through some nasty stuff, alot of the men don' t even do it, i just get the mind set of go girl, just go and i pray all the way
but this time of year my feet are covered, most of the time......there' s this one rattler where i work, it has to be 8 foot long......i' d be dead instintly......the pygmy' s scare me more than the big ones do, they are just evil..............and you can' t hear em like the big guys, til you are right there....me and my buddy were scouting last year , i walked right over it, he went to take a step and it almost got him........put the fear of God right in me....

Here' s a pic a buddy of mine sent me the other day. This was taken down in Texas, where we went on our Rio trip this past april!! Thanks goodness I never seen one of these bad boys!! I believe that these went 10-12 lbs!! My favorite snake is a dead one!! Sorry but I hate them critters with a passion!!

you should consider buying and bringing with you at all times some snake bite anti-venom. with what sounds to me like regular exposure to venomous snakes, I' d say a snake bite kit is a prudent necessity.

The first thing I did when I moved to Georgia is buy snake boots. I have been lucky and haven' t ran into many of them, but I am glad that I have my boots. I agree, them thar is some big snakes.
