RE: LATE SEASON TATICS
ok...i' ve got one for everyone to help with. I' m hunting public land with moderate hunting pressure. theres no problem locating gobblers. but just today, i had one going nuts just a block away but it wouldnt show. I' m using a single hen decoy. My suspicion is that i' m calling too much, but only because he kept responding, and even cutting off my calls. me and my pops had the same thing happen yesterday where the gobbler was damn close but just worked away gradually, gobbling as he went. WHAT SHOULD I DO! this is my first year of turkey hunting and i have the bug, but want to capitilize. i' m hunting way up here in wisconsin and would like a little advice from all you experts. thanx for listening.

RE: LATE SEASON TATICS
Turkeynewb,,,,,,,Late in the season , decoy' s will hangup birds. It sounds as the gobbler walked off and tried to have the hen (Decoy) follow him.
Pay it this way,,, with two hunters , have a caller and a shooter,,,if you get a gobble from a presure bird ,, have the shooter move ahead of the caller about 50 yards. only have the caller sit and cover the back door and do all the calling. The Shooter should follow the gobbling bird with his barrel of his gun untill the proper range for a shot...BT
