There is so many variables. An old gobbler will tend tojust strut around and let the "hen" come to him but a jake or a 2-year old will tend to come in nicely like you want em' to. You can call to agrresivley and he'll hang up because he thinks the hen is coming. If you call too softly he'll loose intrest and leave. But I agree with you in the whole 'lees is better" I'v always loved the idea of float calling. Nevertheless you might get him fired up and he'll come runnin' in. You really just have to make a decision based on what the situation is.
