40 yards is it for me. Until I get a shotgun that has a decent enough trigger, and find a choke/barrel/load combo to get the job done further, 40 is far as I will go. I don't blame folks who has the tools to get the job done at 50. 60 is getting out there even if you can pattern one. Unless one is a great shot, and has awesome trigger control.

My gun still patterns well out to 50 yards, but I dont think I'll ever take a shot past 40-45 yards.. I know that guys that use Nitro shells have no problem taking birds at 60 yards, but I dont have the money for those shells and Im not sure I'd take that risk anyway.

Mine patterns well to 45 yards, but I don't hunt fields. I usually hunt a creek bottom where 30 yards is about as far as I can shoot. Killed mine this year at 25 yards.

I can get a great pattern out to 50 yards and would feel comfortable shooting out to that distance. Although I could probably stretch that out a little more, 50 is the max for me.

What chokes do you guys shoot? I shoot Kick's .665 (Remmington 870 Super Magnum)it works well out to 40-45yds

Will your gun pattern very tight mine patterns like crap and how far will you shoot one?

45 yards is my max. Thats using 3 1/2" Win HV #5's. I'm using a 28" barrel with my Supermag, not sure what you are using.

EXACT Same shells, Gun just 26in barrel and does your gun have thumb hole stock? Mine does and I love the gun just don't hold good pattern out very far[>:]
